Mysuru, September 26, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): “The Mysuru Dasara is a symbol of Indian culture and heritage. Female predominance is the speciality of Dasara,” observed President Droupadi Murmu.
Commencing her speech in Kannada after the inaugural ceremony, the Hon’ble President Droupadi Murmu offered her respects to Goddess Chamundeshwari and wished the gathering. “I am very happy for inaugurating the historic Mysuru Dasara. This is the land where Goddess Chamundeshwari killed Mahishasura. I pray the goddess to bless everyone,” she said.
I am blessed for inviting me to the Mysuru Dasara Mahotsava. Kalaburagi was the land of Sufi saints. This is the land where great people like Allama Prabhu and others have take birth. Karnataka is known for devotion and independence. Basavanna, and Allama Prabhu were ideals. There vachanas have paved way for democracy. It is also a matter of pride to see Dasara celebrations even today. Dasara is being celebrated with more grandeur this year due to the efforts of the State Government. Karnataka has also produced great women leaders like Rani Abbakka and Kittur Rani Chennamma.
“Mysuru Dasara is a symbol of Indian culture. I heartily thank the Chief Minister of Karnataka and all others for giving me an opportunity to take part in this world-renowned celebrations,” she said.
