MLC H. Vishwanath appeals to the State Govt. to continue old text books

Mysuru, June 27, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): BJP MLC H. Vishwanath today urged the State Government to withdraw the school textbook that has been revised by the committee led by Rohith Chakrateertha and continue teaching with the old textbooks.
Addressing a press meet in Mysuru today, H. Vishwanath expressed his view that the government should not be aggressive concerning education. “I opposed the revision done by the Chakrateertha led committee. The government should respect people’s opinion. It is not correct to exhibit arrogance. Education system is spoiling in our state. Party matters should not enter school textbooks. The education minister should speak educational matters. What is the meaning if some other minister who holds revenue or urban development portfolio speaks about it?,” he questioned.
“I appeal to continue the textbooks which were revised by the earlier Baraguru Ramachandrappa committee. A bigger committee should be formed comprising litterateurs, parents and experts. Revision of textbooks should be made by discussing in the committee. I request them to set everything right by next year,” he said.
