MCC Mayor elections put off as of now

Mysuru, July 16, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): The membership of former Mysuru mayor Rukmini Madegowda was canceled due to the non-submission of Income certificate during the elections. Hence, the Deputy Mayor is performing the duty presently.
The Mayoral election was scheduled for June 11, which was postponed. But now the District In-charge Minister S.T. Somashekar has informed that the mayoral elections will not be held as of now.
Speaking in Mysuru about this the Minister informed that the government has decided to conduct elections only in the cooperative sector for president and vice-president posts. “The decision has been taken keeping in mind development. The ZP, TP elections will be most probably held in January 2022,” he said.
GSLR unit inaugurated
Mysuru District In-charge Minister S.T. Somashekar today inaugurated the GSLR unit in the Mysuru city police station limits. He was accompanied by Urban Development Minister B.A. Byrati Basavaraj. MLA Nagendra, Deputy Commissioner Bagadi Gowtham, and local leaders were present.
