KPA and UoM signs contract to start Certificate, Diploma courses for Police personnel

Mysuru, February 21, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): The University of Mysore and the Karnataka Police Academy (KPA) entered into a contract to provide educational opportunities to the police personnel.
Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore, and Karnataka Police Academy Director Vipul Kumar signed the MoU, at a program held at the Education Board auditorium in Crawford Hall today.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar expressed his view that the MoU has been made keeping mind the educational activities of the police personnel. He mentioned that this MoU will be for 10 years.
In his address, Karnataka Police Academy Director Vipul Kumar said, “For the first time such an MoU is being made creating history. Whichever profession we belong to, many among us won’t give much prominence for studies once we join a job. The duty of police personnel will be round the clock. None of them thinks about education. Keeping this in mind an MoU has been entered with the University of Mysore to commence online Diploma, Certificate courses, specialized courses, and post-graduate and graduation courses. The details of how and where are yet to be decided.”
“This will help the police personnel to pursue education in artificial intelligence, criminology, forensic sciences, cybercrime, computer science, etc. Also, the students of this university can avail training at KPA, he explained.
Prof. R. Shivappa, Registrar, University of Mysore, University of Mysore Special Officer Dr. Chetan, and others were present.
