Kalaburagi, October 13, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “The Government of India has not given GST relief money to Karnataka at all. Last year also we didn’t receive, this year also we didn’t get. Karnataka has faced utmost injustice after Modi came to power,” opined former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Speaking to the media persons at Kalaburagi today, Siddaramaiah said if the Govt. of Karnataka asks GST amount, the Govt. of India says take a loan! They have not given us our share of the GST amount at all. In fact, our share has been reduced. This way our state is facing a lot of injustice. Who is the reason for this? Isn’t it Prime Minister Modi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, former Chief Minister B. S. Yedyurappa, and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai?.”
“The government has not released the 2019 compensation amount at all till now. The present government is not responding to the farmers’ problems at all. About 45 villages in Kalaburagi district have experienced an earthquake recently. But not even one elected representative has visited till now. More than 75% of the people here are migrating. After I explained it, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Revenue Minister R. Ashok said that they will look into the matter. The people have experienced the feeling of an earthquake when I visited. People are living on roads, isn’t it the duty of the government to make alternate arrangements,? he questioned.
