If they want education let them come in uniform: Minister B.C. Nagesh clarifies

Bengaluru, February 4, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): In his response to the ongoing hijab controversy in Udupi District, Primary and Secondary Education Minister B.C. Nagesh has clarified that if they want education let them come in uniform.
“If the children want education they should come in uniform. We are not opposing their wish to follow their religious traditions. If they want to learn they should follow the rules. We have introduced this rule, based on the High Court judgment. It will continue till further orders. A few people are trying to spoil the integrity of the nation. They are trying to disturb the peaceful atmosphere by creating controversy,” he explained.
He also attacked opposition leader Siddaramaiah stating that being a former Chief Minister he should feel ashamed to talk like that. “These people will bow down to any level for votes. They are doing all this to get their votes. The uniform code was introduced when their government was in power. I suspect a conspiracy behind this controversy,” he added.
