Home Minister Araga Jnanendra visits Mysuru Central Prison: Receives appeals from prisoners

Mysuru, October 1, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Home Minister Araga Jnanendra today visited the Mysuru Central Prison.
He inspected the FM radio center maintained by the prison authorities, where prisoners themselves are the workers. He gave a speech on the FM radio about its activities. He explained the measures taken by the government concerning the rehabilitation of the prisoners, increased wages, and the establishment of the Prison Development Board.
He also visited the handicrafts unit, skill development center, and tailoring training center on the jail premises and also interacted with several prisoners. Later he visited the prayer hall, where he was welcomed by a few prisoners with songs.
The Home Minister received grievances from the women prisoners. He also visited the kitchen and checked the cleanliness.
Later he asked the prison officials to monitor and prevent the usage of narcotics, mobile phones, etc., inside the prison premises.
Mysuru Jail Superintendent K.C. Divyashri and other senior officials were present.
