Govt. spending Rs.231 crore to purchase Covi Shield; Public no need to panic – Minister Sudhakar

Bengaluru, Jan. 12, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “The Government has purchased 1.1 crore doses of Covishield vaccines for Rs. 231 crores. People need not panic on this,” said Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar.
Speaking in Bengaluru today, he said, “the DCGI has approved Covishield vaccination, and the Government of India has purchased 1.1 crore doses of the vaccine. No other country has purchased so much. Each dose has been purchased at a cost of Rs. 210, and the total expenses are Rs.231 crore,” he explained.231 crore - purchase - Cowshield vaccine-people - vaccine – Minister- Sudhakar
“There will be 5ml in each vial, which can be given to 10 people. The second dose will be given after 28 days of administration of the first dose. All vials have the label mentioning ‘Not for Sale’. All measures have been taken to prevent any adverse effects. People need not panic about this,” he added.
