ಮೈಸೂರು, 06 ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): ಜಿಯೋಸ್ಪೇಷಿಯಲ್ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನವು ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಆವಿಷ್ಕಾರಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಜ್ಞಾನದ ವಿನಿಮಯಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕಾರ್ಯವಿಧಾನವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ.ಜಿ.ಹೇಮಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಮಾನಸ ಗಂಗೋತ್ರಿಯ ಭೂಗೋಳ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಹಾಗೂ ನ್ಯಾಷನಲ್ ಜಿಯೋಸ್ಪೇಷಿಯಲ್ ಪ್ರೋಗ್ರಾಮ್‌ ಅಡಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಇಂದು ಜಿಯೋಸ್ಪೇಷಿಯಲ್ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಪ್ಲಿಕೇಶನ್ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ವಿನಿಮಯಕ್ಕೆ ರಚನೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಕ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿರುವ ಅಂತರರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ಇದರ ಸದ್ಬಳಕೆಗೆ ಬಳಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂವಹನ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳು ಪ್ರಗತಿಯಾದಂತೆ ಹೊಸ ಹೊಸ ವ್ಯವಹಾರಗಳ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿ ಮತ್ತು ಬಳಕೆದಾರರ ನೆಲೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸಲು ಜಿಯೋಸ್ಪೇಷಿಯಲ್ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ವರದಾನವಾಗಿದೆ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಕೆಲವು ನಿರ್ಣಾಯಕ ಸವಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಇದನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪಡಿಸಬೇಕಿದೆ. ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ಸಮಗ್ರ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಸರಣ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಆಲೋಚಿಸಬೇಕಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ವಿಕಸನಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ಐಟಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವು ಪರಿಸರಕ್ಕೆ ಹಲವು ಸವಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಡ್ಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಸ್ಥಿರ ಪರಿಸರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಹಲವು ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಹರಿಸಲು ಜಿಯೋಸ್ಪೇಷಿಯಲ್ ವರದಾನವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜಿಯೋಸ್ಪೇಷಿಯಲ್ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಭಾರತ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಗತಿ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್ ಪ್ಲಾನ್‌ನಂತಹ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಿದೆ. 200 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಭೌಗೋಳಿಕ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ (ಜಿಐಎಸ್) ಯನ್ನು ಮ್ಯಾಪಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ನೀರಿನ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳ ಮೌಲ್ಯಮಾಪನ, ಪ್ರವಾಹ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ, ಜಲಾಶಯದ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ, ಬರ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಮಾಡಲು
ಜಿಯೋಸ್ಪೇಷಿಯಲ್ ಅಗತ್ಯ ನೆರವು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. NHP ಉಪಕರಣಗಳ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಕೂಡ ಇದು ಸಹಕಾರಿ ಎಂದರು.

Geospatial a boon for sustainable environment development: UoM VC
Mysuru, December 6, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “The Geospatial technology is a vital mechanism for the exchange of information and knowledge between academic and scientific discoveries,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He participated in the one-day lecture program organized by the Geography Department, under the Science and Technology and National Geospatial program, held at the Manasagangotri campus today. “The Geospatial technology and applications have been developed for the exchange of information at the global level. The International Scientific Organizations which are technically active can better utilize it,” he opined.
“The geospatial information has turned a boon in providing a platform for the creation of new trades and users in the background of progressing information and communication technologies. Along with this, it is also facing a few crucial challenges. Therefore, there is a need of developing it further so that it will become more helpful at both the local and national levels. We need to think about the integrated information management and transmission,” he added.
Further, he also mentioned that geospatial technology is essential for several activities like evaluation of water resources, flood management, reservoirs management, drought management, etc. It is also helpful in arranging NHP implements, he said.
