Former CM Siddaramaiah requests Govt. of India to allow writing Nationalized Banks recruitment exams in Kannada

Bengaluru, July 13, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Former Chief Minister and leader of the opposition in the Assembly Siddaramaiah has urged the Govt. of India to allow writing the Nationalized Bank recruitment exams in Kannada.
By not allowing to write the exams conducted for recruitment in nationalized banks, the Narendra Modi government has betrayed Kannadigas. The recent circular issued by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IPBS) is proof of this betrayal. The Govt. of India should immediately look into this matter and rectify the injustice meted out to Kannadigas and provide justice, he has demanded.
“The IPBS has invited applications for recruitment of 3,000 posts in eleven nationalized banks, out of which 407 posts are in Karnataka. Due to the injustice, Kannadiga youth who are already facing unemployment problems are deprived of getting jobs in banks. Before 2014 there was a provision to write the exams in state languages. But the Govt. of India amended the rules, betraying the non-English and non-Hindi language speaking youth of the country. Our party had opposed this and had even written to the Govt. of India. Following this, the Union Finance Minister had announced in the Lok Sabha that the Govt. of India would allow writing the banking exams in the Kannada language. However, it has not been fulfilled,” he said.
