Former CM Siddaramaiah demands amendment NDRF rules and release compensation immediately

Bengaluru, June 21, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has demanded to amend the NDRF rules immediately and release proper compensation to the victims of floods.
In a press release, Siddaramaiah stated, “The Union Govt. releases compensation amount under the National Relief Fund to the State Governments. The NDRF rules will be amended once in five years, and the input subsidy amount provided to the farmers’ crops, the loss occurred to fishermen arising due to the damage to their boats, relief to the loss occurred by the livestock, damage of houses in natural calamities, and other public properties will be revised five years once. Likewise, the rules for the same for 2015-20 were revised. It should have been revised again in 2020, but they have not done it till now.”
“The prices of all the products have doubled in the last two years. Inflation has reached an all-time high. Even now the Union Government has not revised the NDRF rules,” he alleged and demanded its immediate revision.
