Entry to Mysuru only if you have COVID Negative report: Minister S.T. Somashekar

Mysuru, July 7, 2021 (www.justkannada.in):  Mysuru District In-charge Minister S.T. Somashekar has informed that people coming to Mysuru through the Kerala border will be allowed only if they produce COVID Negative report.

He spoke to the press persons during his visit to the Bawali check post located on the border of Mysuru today. “I visited Chamarajanagara yesterday and held a meeting, I also visited the border area there and inspected. The ZP CEO was informed to construct a shed near the Bawali checkpost when I visited during the 2nd wave. As a result, the shed has been built now which will be helpful for the doctors,” he informed.

“We have not reduced the COVID tests in Mysuru district. Every day 10,000 tests are held,” he added. In his reply to the availability of vaccines, he said there is no shortage and also informed that further discussions would be held with the officials concerned with respect to the imposition of weekend curfew.

“We are not in a position to impose complete lockdown as we still have not recovered from the earlier lockdown. As of now, there is no need to worry as the positivity rate is still less. However the cases are increasing constantly in the neighbouring states, and hence we need to be extra careful,” he said.

ZP CEO A.M. Yogesh, District SP R. Chetan, Tahasildar Naragund, DHO Dr. Prasad, Special Duty Officer Dinesh Gooligowda, and others accompanied him.
