ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಇಂದು ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳ ಜತೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಗೃಹ ಸಚಿವ ಬಸವರಾಜ ಬೊಮ್ಮಾಯಿ, ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಸರ್ಕಾರವಿದ್ದಾಗ ಮೇಟಿ ಕೇಸ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಏನು ಮಾಡಿತು ಎಂಬುದು ಗೊತ್ತಿದೆ. ಹೆಚ್ ವೈ ಮೇಟಿ ಕೇಸ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಫ್ ಐಆರ್ ಸಹ ಹಾಕಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ವಿಡಿಯೋ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಯಾರು ಅಂತಾ ಸಹ ಕಂಡು ಹಿಡಿದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಸದೇ ಕ್ಲೀನ್ ಚಿಟ್ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಗೆ ರಮೇಶ್ ಜಾರಕಿಹೊಳಿಯನ್ನ ಬಂಧಿಸುವಂತೆ ಹೇಳಲು ನೈತಿಕತೆ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ವಾಗ್ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಿದರು.
ತನಿಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಮಧ್ಯ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಲ್ಲ. ಎಸ್ ಐಟಿ ಕಾನೂನು ಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ರಮೇಶ್ ಜಾರಕಿಹೊಳಿ ಬಂಧನದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಎಸ್ ಐಟಿ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಬಸವರಾಜ ಬೊಮ್ಮಾಯಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

Bengaluru, Mar. 31, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai today said that the Congress leaders don’t have moral rights to demand the arrest of MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi.
Speaking to the press persons today in Bengaluru the Home Minister said, “Everyone knows what Congress did during former Minister H.Y. Meti’s case. They didn’t even register an FIR, nor did they try to find out who recorded the video in that case. He was given a clean chit without even conducting an investigation. Hence, Congress doesn’t have any moral right to demand imprisonment of Ramesh Jarkiholi.”
“I won’t interfere in the investigation. The SIT is investigating as per law and it will decide about his arrest,” he added.
