Cong. Mekedatu Padayatra halted temporarily: Siddaramaiah announces

Ramanagara, January 13, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): “We are halting the Mekedatu project padayatra for the time being keeping in mind the increasing number of COVID cases and health of the public. However, we will continue the padayatra once the pandemic comes under control,” Siddaramaiah announced today.
Addressing a press meet in Ramanagara today, he informed that it is the intention of the Congress party not to trouble the people. “We are halting the padayatra for the time being keeping in mind the health priority of the people. However, we will continue with it again from Ramanagara, once the pandemic comes under control. I request our party activists not to lose enthusiasm. Let us all participate in the padayatra with the same enthusiasm in the future,” he said.
He wished all the party members and supporters for participating in the padayatra. “Congress is not the reason for the increase in the number of Corona cases in the state, we are not responsible for the 3rd wave of the pandemic. BJP is the reason for the increase in the number of cases. The Chief Minister didn’t stop any public program even though the pandemic unearthed again. He went on with the new MLCs swearing-in ceremony with three to four thousand people. A Jatra was held in his home constituency. Renukacharya also participated in the Jatra nobody took any action against them. No case was booked against anyone. However they wanted to stop the Congress from its padayatra,” he alleged.
