CM’s son Vijendra performs pooja at Nanjangud: HC orders strict action

Bengaluru, June 18, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): The Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka has issued orders to initiate strict action against Chief Minister B.S. Yedyurappa’s son Vijendra, who offered pooja at Nanjangud temple violating guidelines.
The hearing of the appeal in the High Court against the case involving the Chief Minister’s Son Vijendra who offered pooja at the temple in Nanjangud violating rules was held. AG Prabhuling Navadagi who is arguing on behalf of Vijendra explained to the Hon’ble Court that, “It is reported that Vijendra was not given the opportunity to enter the temple and have darshan of the deity. Vijendra had not visited the temple purposefully. He entered the temple as the priests asked him to do so. He stayed there only for 5 or 10 minutes.”
The High Court Bench led by Chief Justice A.S. Oka however questioned that can he go to a temple even if there is a curfew? Can only the priest be held responsible? Didn’t he go?
In his reply, the Advocate General said politicians will also have a lot of responsibility and explained however the Hon’ble Court can get clarification from Vijendra too.
The Hon’ble HC Divisional bench has stated that this incident should become an eye-opener for all others, especially the bureaucrats and politicians. When the general public is prohibited all of them should follow it. Strict action should be initiated against any of them who violate the rule.
