Citizens protest against traffic police behavior in Mysuru: Eight people held in attack on police

Mysuru, Mar. 23,2021 (www.justkannada.in): In an incident that occurred in Mysuru yesterday a two-wheeler rider slipped from his vehicle and lost his life when a traffic policeman allegedly try to stop him for verification. Enraged over the death of the bike rider the citizens of the area attacked the traffic police personnel causing tension in the area for some time. The Vijayanagar police have held eight persons in this case and three persons namely Manju, Swamynayaka and Madegowda were held following a separate complaint by three police personnel. Cases have been registered against them for damaging the government vehicle and disrupting the police personnel who were on duty.
The incident occurred near Hinkal Junction in Mysuru. The protest was held under the leadership of Corporator K.V. Sridhar and JDS leader K.V. Mallesh. The protestors shouted slogans against the State Government and the Police Department.
