Along with physical health, maintain your mental health too: UoM VC

Mysuru, March 9, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): “While on the one hand population is increasing, on the other hand, air and other pollutions are also increasing. Hence, everyone should give preference towards maintaining good health and hygiene,” observed Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He inaugurated a special lecture program on the topic “Hygiene and health among youth,” organized by the University of Mysore alumni association, in association with the Mysuru Physician Medical and Research Trust. In his address, he said, “In this modern era the food that we are consuming is contaminated. Therefore, everyone should give importance to maintaining good health and hygiene. Along with physical health, we should also give importance to the maintenance of mental health also. When both these are in good balance our health will be stable.”
“Physical exercise, spirituality, and mental peace are very important for good health as per WHO. It is not enough only if we have a good physique. Mind and body both should be good for good health. Everyone should shun anger, hatred, pressure. Everyone should give importance to personal hygiene,” he added.
Prof. K.S. Rangappa, Vice-President, University of Mysore Alumni Association informed that they have plans to organize a lecture program every month by inviting one subject expert. He also informed that the association also has planned to help students who want to undertake research. “There is a need to enhance knowledge of health and social science. One should possess knowledge about all the subjects,” he said.
Dr. Praveen Kulkarni, of the JSS Medical College, spoke on the occasion. Prof. S.N. Hegde, President, University of Mysore Alumni Association, Prof. S.R. Niranjana, and Prof. S. Srikantaswamy were present.
