‘Agriculture students should become job creators’: Minister B.C. Patil

Bengaluru, September 21, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Agriculture Minister B.C. Patil today opined that the students should become job creators instead of hunting for jobs. “It is indeed very happy to see students graduating from agricultural sciences are becoming such job creators,” he observed.
He participated in the 55th Convocation of the Gandhi Krishi Vignan Kendra (GKVK) in Bengaluru today. Chancellor and Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka Sri Thawar Chand Gehlot participated in the convocation and gave the oath to the students. Apart from according Ph.D. to eligible candidates, he also distributed gold medals and certificates to the rank holders.
Speaking on the occasion Agriculture Minister B.C. Patil informed that the State Government is committed to the development of the agricultural sector and farmers in the State. “The Agriculture Department has taken a significant step by entering in an agreement with the HESCON Company in the agricultural technology sector with an investment of Rs. 770 crore, at the ratio of 85%:15%,” he informed.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed to increase the income of the farmers of the country who are in fact the spine of the Indian economy. In this context, he is giving more preference to the food production companies. He wants more adoption of technology in order to increase the income of the farmers. Education and talent don’t belong to any one person. Any person, college, or university who has talent will come to the limelight. The governments have implemented several programs in order to double the income of the farmers,” he explained.
ICAR Secretary Dr. Trilochana Mohapatra participated in the convocation virtually. Dr. Rajendra Prasa, Vice-Chancellor, Agriculture University welcomed the guests and the gathering and also explained the achievements of the college. Administrative board members, education board members, and others were present.
