Adoption of low-cost geospatial technology helpful for developing nations: MoU VC

Mysuru, Feb. 05, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “Adoption of low-cost geospatial technology will help developing countries to move towards sustainable geo-management systems. It will be helpful for swift progress in this era of technology,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He inaugurated the International virtual seminar on the topic “Geospatial Technology for Sustainable Development,” organised by the University of Mysore, in association with the International Geographical Union (IGU).
In his address, he explained, “Geospatial technology is a multi-disciplinary field and as it is a new coordinated educational division, it is being used at the application level more in the developed nations. Also because of this, it is being used as an important development, planning and monitoring tool in all the countries to decide on the projects, by knowing the significance of this technology in development”
Prof. R.B. Singh, General Secretary, IGU, Dr. B.Chandrashekar, HoD, Geography Division, University of Mysore, and other staff members of the division were present.
