‘A complaint system against police who misuse their power to be introduced soon’: Home Minister Araga Jnanendra

Mysuru, September 28, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Home Minister Araga Jnanendra today informed that a complaint system against the police personnel who misuse their power would be introduced soon.
He inaugurated the 6th Women Police Constable batch parade, held at the Police Training School in Jyothinagara, in Mysuru today. About 242 trainees have completed their eight months of training. The Home Minister received the guard of honour.
In his address, he said there are soldiers to guard us against external forces. “But the challenge we are facing is the internal protection of the 130 crore people of our country. Soldiers can’t do it. It is the police who are doing that work. They are ably performing their duty of maintaining law and order. There was a time when people used to think only about men police. But today there is 10% women police personnel in the state. Whereas it should be increased to 25%. The educational qualification criteria for the selection of police constables are PUC. Whereas many of them have completed their post-graduation. Out of the 242 women police who are passing out today, many of them are graduates. Hence, the police department should have discipline and tolerance,” he said.
